CLIMATE
Thessaloniki’s climate is directly affected by the sea it is situated on.
Thessaloniki’s residents and visitors are lucky enough to enjoy an average of 290 days of sunlight annually. The sun shines most months of the year, winters are mild, temperatures are warm and there is limited rainfall. Maximum temperatures usually rise above 30 °C (86 °F), but rarely go over 40 °C (104 °F). The average wind speed for June and July in Thessaloniki is 20 kilometres per hour (12 mph).

Greece is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +2) throughout the year.
CURRENCY
The Greek currency is EURO. Credit cards are widely used in most establishments. Most currencies and traveller’s cheques can easily be changed either at banks, hotels or currency exchanges, with some handling charges.
